Reading's resumption was cruelly denied a winning start, as Stoke City nicked a stoppage-time equaliser at Madejski Stadium.
Upon his return to action, Lucas Joao tucked in a fine opening goal - only for Nick Powell to prod in late on to deny the Royals the points after a number of near-misses for Reading.
