While the Royals' scheduled match against Stoke City at the weekend was called off, we still had to prepare as if the match was going ahead...
As part of our preparations, a full issue of our matchday programme, The Royal, went to print - but now, we find ourselves with limited stock of a programme for a match that never happened.
We hoped our supporters would be leafing through the pages from the stands at Madejski Stadium last weekend. But now we want The Royal read at home to help people through a difficult period for us all.
With that in mind, we are able to confirm that every Season Ticket holder over the age of 70 will, within the next few weeks, receive a free copy of this programme in the post - as we aim to help people within the Reading Football Club community stay engaged with football during these unprecedented times.
We continue to wait to establish when football might resume and when a rearranged meeting with the Potters might take place. But, although this period in our history is not going to be one we want to remember, last Saturday's edition of our programme will remain something of a collector's item. So the remaining stock is on sale now, you can get hold of your copy today for just £1.50!
In the programme itself, Garath McCleary featured on the cover, with Mark Bowen and Liam Moore offering their usual pre-match column and you'll catch up on Reading's most recent matches as usual, as well as an in-depth look at Stoke City and their season.
Historical pieces are well catered for as well, as we look back to tales of yesteryear. So if you, like many of us, might find themselves in need of some extra reading material in the coming weeks, the programme is available on our Fanstore website now for half price - just £1.50 - with free delivery available until Friday 20th March!
