Four of our five fixtures scheduled after the next international break will now be broadcast live to the nation on Sky Sports!
First up, will be a very tough trip to the south coast to face recently relegated Bournemouth. The match at the Vitality Stadium has been moved to the early kick-off slot and will now be played at 12.30pm on Saturday 21st November.
The following weekend, we host Bristol City at the Madejski. Just as with the Cherries clash the previous week, this game will not change date but will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports at the new kick-off time of 12.30pm.
And we’re back at home on the following Saturday when Nottingham Forest come to RG2. The game against Chris Hughton’s side will kick off the weekend’s action by filling the 12.30pm slot in the schedule on Saturday 5th December.
The Royals relinquished their unbeaten record at St Andrew’s on Friday night but have been catching the eye at both ends of the pitch – only one team has scored more than us in the Championship so far this season, while at the back we have kept clean sheets in six of our nine games to date.
So unsurprisingly, Sky Sports and their viewers are keen to see what this impressive start is all about.
This latest tranche of broadcast selections means five of our next seven games are all going to be played out in front of the Sky Sports lenses – with this Saturday morning’s meeting with Stoke City already penned into the broadcast schedule!
We want our fans to see us in action, so while the turnstiles remain closed we hope the opportunity to watch from the action from every TV angle will be good news for Royals supporters desperate not to miss a kick of the campaign. However, these Sky Sports-selected fixtures will not be available to watch via iFollow of course.
So, open up your diaries and make sure you free up your calendars to give us your valuable support in what will be four extremely tough games for Veljko Paunovic’s side.
And while you are amending your fixture planners – we can also confirm another change of kick off time for our home clash against Coventry City in January. We will want to make amends for our first loss of the season when we meet the Sky Blues on home turf – and our Madejski Stadium encounter with Mark Robins’ men will now kick off at 7pm on Tuesday 19th January 2021.
Our home game against Preston North End this Wednesday is also kicking off at 7pm as is our midweek away trip to Millwall after the international break, while Madejski Stadium matches in December against Norwich City and Birmingham City have been brought forward to 7.45pm kick-offs rather than 8pm games.
These games are not currently scheduled for live broadcast, however the matches against the Canaries and the Blues will be available on the red button, while meetings with Millwall, Coventry and firstly Preston this week will all be accessible to all Royals fans via iFollow match passes - allowing our supporters to continue to follow every kick of our campaign while football remains behind closed doors.
