🗨️ Pauno anticipating another battle against the Millers

Manager looks on to Saturday’s meeting at Madejski Stadium

It’s a theme at the moment – go to battle, try to earn the points… then rest and recover and get ready to go again!

That’s the plan this weekend when we host Rotherham United at Madejski Stadium. Like Wycombe in midweek, the Millers were promoted last season and we’ll expect another tough challenge to stand between us and the three points that we want.

“We’re just looking ahead to our next game against Rotherham,” manager Veljko Paunović said.

“It’s going to be another hard, hard game. We have a vision for our coming games in the next few weeks and on the road, but the focus is all on the next game.

“We will be ready for them. We have a couple of days to recover. It is important for our spirit and our mentality to beat Wycombe, and we know it will be hard going forward. But we will be ready.”

The starting XI for the Chairboys meeting was unchanged from the previous outing in Middlesbrough.

With 40 games remaining this season, there is plenty of time for those players on fringes of the team at the moment to make their mark on the season… and Pauno is encouraging his players to keep giving him selection headaches.

“Against Wycombe, we had a boost from the bench,” he continued. “All three guys – Alfa Semedo, Tomás Esteves and Tom McIntyre. Everyone is important in our team, and again I want to encourage everyone who is not participating that much to keep doing what they’re doing so far.

“That’s supporting the team and getting ready for their opportunity because it is going to come. I’m very proud of the patience and the commitment by those players – everyone is going to be needed.”
