💪 Pauno ‘embracing the opportunities’ in upcoming schedule

Manager on Boro and hectic schedule ahead

15 October 2020

Back to action this weekend – the 250-mile journey to Middlesbrough marks the start of a chock-a-block period which includes seven games in 22 days, before the next international weekend.

Boss Veljko Paunović is by no means daunted… conversely, it offers a chance to continue our amazing momentum!

“We are here to compete, we are here to work!” Pauno said. “We are embracing the opportunities that we have ahead because we believe the team is in a good shape. All you want to do when you are excelling and playing this well is to continue playing and competing.

“One game at a time – we will prepare for our next opponent, then for the next one, and then for the next one. It is not allowed to look at the standings, but we can watch our calendar and look at our upcoming opponents.

“We have a plan – it is very important to have a strategy. But everything starts with the next game. This is the approach that we have had so far and that we will continue having.”

And the next game in question is at the Riverside to face a Boro side managed by Neil Warnock..

“He is a fantastic manager, and Middlesbrough are a fantastic team also,” continued Pauno.

“He has had a great career and congratulations to him on that. But for them and for us, we have one game to think about and that’s the next game – so we have to prepare ourselves.

“We will do our job, we will always focus on ourselves – but we respect everyone.”
