💬 “Winning mentality, toughness… and we’ll give our best!”

The manager previews our Coventry City fixture

29 October 2020

A fabulous result in midweek at Blackburn. But football moves on quickly and Coventry City stand between us and another good result this Friday.

That’s the question we put to Pauno – back on the road, a short turnaround, and not much time to celebrate the midweek win?

“You’re starting to sound like me!” he said with a smile. “Exactly that – next game. We have to prepare for a hard game.

“We have just a couple of days to prepare and less time than usual.

“But we’ll get ready for anything and everything and there’ll be no excuses. We want winning mentality, toughness, and to give our best.”

Midfield playmaker Ovie Ejaria was unavailable for the win at Blackburn; the Royals boss is hopeful of having his talents to call upon when we travel to St Andrew’s.

“In the previous game, he felt some fatigue in his muscle and we didn’t want to take a risk – we will see if we can recover him for Friday,” Pauno continued.

“We didn’t want to take any risks because we know how many games we have and it is a brutal stretch! But the team is strong.”
