Six players in action for European qualifiers

9 September 2020

The first international break of the 2020-21 season approaches, and Reading FC Women will have six players representing their respective countries, which includes an impressive showing for the Welsh National side.

The Welsh quintet of Royals skipper Natasha Harding, Rachel Rowe, Lily Woodham, Angharad James and new loan-signing Jess Fishlock have all been named in the preliminary 26 player squad for their country’s UEFA European qualifier against Norway on 22nd September at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.

Royals striker Amalie Eikeland makes the Norwegian squad and will take on her Welsh counterparts in the Group C clash, where her native Norway find themselves top with four wins out of four, with Wales four points behind in second place with two wins and two draws in the competition so far.

Kelly Chambers' Reading FC Women are next in action this Sunday in a league clash against newly promoted Aston Villa at Madejski Stadium, in the first home fixture of the 2020-21 season.
