The Premier League 2 fixtures have been revealed for 2020-21 – and our Under-23s’ season begins a week today with a trip to Norwich City.
Scheduled to kick off at 7pm the Canaries’ Lotus Training Centre on Monday 14th September, it marks our youth team’s first fixture since March.
Like many leagues all over the world, the Premier League 2 Division 2 campaign was brought to an incomplete end in 2019-20 due to Covid-19. Our boys were ninth in the standings when proceedings were brought to a halt.
But now our boys will be back in competitive action again in a week’s time as they look to catch the eye and push for places in the senior squad… as well as trying to earn the points which could ultimately earn automatic promotion to the top tier or extend the season via the play-offs.
Our first home fixture is at the end of the same week as Fulham visit Bearwood Park on Friday 18th September (1pm).
Due to the ongoing situation, there have been some changes in relation to host venues and match arrangements. There is no obligation to play any fixtures at main stadia this season and no limit on the number of fixtures played at training grounds. The Premier League have also afforded flexibility over kick-off times in order to minimise the requirement of overnight stays, wherever possible.
Fixtures across the division are scheduled to take place over the course of any given long weekend (between Friday and the following Monday); at present, all of our home fixtures have provisionally been pencilled in for 1pm kick-offs on Friday afternoons at Bearwood.
Information about our Under-23s’ involvement in cup competitions for this season will be announced in due course.
