Millwall condemned us to consecutive defeats by winning at Madejski Stadium on Saturday – but goalie Rafael is confident that the team will be able to turn the tide in their favour again soon.
It took two second-half goals by Matt Smith and Mason Bennett to overturn the result – a frustrating turn of events.
But with the season still on track, our Brazilian stopper is confident that we can continue the fight.
“We are really disappointed because we came here to win the game and didn’t do it,” said Rafael.
“Congratulations to them, they played their game and we have to watch the game again and see what we can improve, what we did well and what we didn’t do well.
“We’ve been playing very well but this afternoon was difficult game – they’re a hard team to play against and they way they play is different, long balls into the box, we tried to play our football and we had opportunities.
“This game is over, unfortunately we can’t do anything about it… but we can improve, we can talk to each other.
“This team is strong, we are more than teammates, we are friends, we are likely family so we will help each other and keep playing our season.
“We have to be calm now. We’ve lost two games, but our season is going very well and we are proud of what we have been doing so far and I’m sure our fans are as well.
“What I can say for our fans is that this season is going to be long but we’re going to fight until the end to get what we want.”
