Oakwell awaits and the Royals are determined to be ready for one of the biggest games of the season so far.
"It has been a very good two weeks of training," Pauno said. "Players have recovered further from injuries while others have replenished during the international break.
"We are waiting on the final couple of players to come back from their international duties. But we have regrouped and the enthusiasm is there.
"With eight games left, we are in a position where we have to secure the play-offs. That is our plan, that what our approach is aimed towards.
"And we will do everything we can. We have to focus on what we have in front of us, a great but difficult challenge away at Barnsley.
"The new coach there has done a great job with them and they have been on a great run. We have done our homework, analysed our opponents as we always do, but our focus now narrows to what we can control, our own performance.
"It's not going to be easy. But we are going to put everything out there to get the result on Friday.
"Every game in this final stretch is important, every game is a must win and in every game we have to give our best.
"Thanks to our unity, our commitment, our togetherness we have put ourselves in this position.
"It is important to confront the challenges we have ahead. We are aware of what this means for ourselves, the community, our fans and this club.
"The approach has to be very down to earth. But we also know that this is the moment. We have to be at our best. And we have to go for it."
