In conjuction with Supporters' Trust at Reading, Royals fans have voted in their thousands to crown combative midfielder Josh Laurent as their Player of the Season for the 2020/21 campaign.
The 26-year-old has made a real impact in his first season at the Madejski, and his performances in a Reading shirt have seen him end the season by collecting the annual accolade dictated by our supporters.
Laurent registered the most votes from all first-team players to make 10 or more appearances.
Over the course of the campaign, the midfielder who arrived in the summer from Shrewsbury Town, has missed just one game - and has been key to the heart of the team.
It goes without saying it's been an impressive first season of regular Championship football for Laurent.
Brimming with energy, Laurent has caught the eye for his determined, battling displays, and has put in many a tireless showing for the benefit of the team.
Not only has he stood out individually, but Laurent has developed a glowing partnership with fellow midfield star Andy Rinomhota, and the lively duo have been key to the core of the side this season.
Our #28 netted his first goal for the club back in late October, as he curled in a fine effort during a 4-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
He then got his second of the season three months later in January, when he stabbed home the opener against AFC Bournemouth - while his third came in the form of a header in our penultimate league outing against Norwich City.
A huge congratulations to Josh - a deserving winner, whose name goes onto our roll of honour!
