Bio

Dublin-born midfielder Jeff Hendrick arrived at the club on a season long loan from Premier League side Newcastle United in July 2022.

He spent a decade with local side St Kevin’s Boys before moving to England and signing for Derby County in 2008, making his first team debut for the club in a 4-2 home defeat to Burnley in April 2011 at the age of 19.

He established himself in the Rams side the following season and scored his first Championship goal against their East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 victory at the City Ground.

The midfielder was first called up by his country in 2013 by Giovanni Trappatoni, earning the first of his 74 caps coming on in a 2-0 win over Poland.

Having helped the Derbyshire club to the Championship Play-Offs twice he departed, after making 214 appearances, to have his first taste of the Premier League with Burnley in 2016, having represented Ireland at that summer’s European Championships in France.

He made 32 appearances for the Clarets in his first season as they successfully beat the drop before featuring 34 times in 2017-18 as the Lancashire side finished 7th in the top flight and qualifying for the Europa League.

Hendrick made his debut in European club competition in July 2018 in a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie against Aberdeen, but ended his time at Turf Moor after a four-season stay to join Newcastle United.

Finding the net on his debut in a 2-0 win at West Ham United, he featured 23 times in his first season on Tyneside before he spent the second half of 2021-22 adding to his extensive Championship experience whilst on loan at Queens Park Rangers. He arrived in Berkshire in summer 2022 on loan from the Magpies.
