Young full-back Samuels initially signed with the Royals on scholarship terms as a 16-year-old in May 2019. Then, in February 2020 he put pen-to-paper on a first professional contract that keeps him at the club until 2022.
The teenager also has pedigree with his country, having represented England at U16, U17 and most recently U18s level. In September 2019, he won the Syrenka Cup alongside fellow Reading teammates Coniah Boyce-Clarke and Nelson Abbey - and was named in the starting line-up for two of England’s three matches in the tournament.
He represented our Under-18s side in 2019-20, before progressing further to turn out for our Under-23s team during the 2020-21 season. In May 2021, he was called up to England’s Under-19s for the first time, for a training camp at St George’s Park.
