Kuhl's Story:
Son to our U23s coach Martin Kuhl, Aaron first joined up with the Academy back in 2008. Born in Bath, he attended Secondary School at Yateley in Hampshire and made his way to the Royals as a scholar.

Known to many fans due to his wavy afro hairstyle, this talented midfield maestro came on leaps and bounds during the 2012/13 season. Having made his U18s debut in the final match of the previous term, he then captained the side to within touching distance of the U18s Premier League trophy.

The resulting season he retained the armband as the U18s made their way to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup, and on occasion, also represented the U21s as they won the first ever Premier League Cup, defeating the blue of Manchester four goals to three.

That December, Kuhl signed a professional contract with the club alongside another Academy graduate Jack Stacey. Eight months later he made his debut for the Royals during our home fixture against Huddersfield Town in August.

Four days after being introduced as a half-time substitute, he made his first start for Nigel Adkins’ side as they tackled a difficult away trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest.

Ending that season with 5(+3) appearances in a Reading shirt, he was one of eleven Academy graduates to make their breakthrough that year. Following loan spells at Dundee United and Boreham Wood, he left the club in the summer of 2017.
