Andersen‘s Story:
Before Anderson joined up with the Royals in January 2007, he became the youngest ever goalkeeper in Denmark’s top flight when he lined up for AB Copenhagen at the age of 17.

He signed for the Royals as an 18-year-old on a two-year contract, having played five times for the Danish League side.

During the 2007/08 season, he found himself embarking on loan spells with both Torquay and Rushden, as well as featuring on the bench for our Carling Cup tie with Swansea.

Starting the 2008/09 campaign he was the regular second choice keeper due to Adam Federici being out on Olympic duty, and was called upon again when the Aussie stepped out on loan.

In December 2008 an emergency loan deal took him to Brentford, whose first choice keeper and Reading loanee Ben Hamer was suspended.

He made his Football League debut against Bradford in his solitary appearances for the Bees, picking up the Man of the Match award en route.

The Danish shot-stopper spent the 2009/10 season on loan to Bristol Rovers, who were then situated in the third tier of English Football.

Anderson made 39 starts for the Pirates, and was awarded with the League One side’s Young Player of the Year Award in addition to finishing third in the overall Player of the Year vote.

More loan spells arose, again with Bristol Rovers, then Portsmouth, before spending a season back in Denmark with Danish Superliga team Randers Freja for the 2013/14 campaign.

Returning to Nigel Adkins’ Reading in time for 2014/15 pre-season, he made his first team bow in September away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Anderson made another four appearances for the Royals before the season came to a close, playing his part in our historical FA Cup run with an outing up north to Huddersfield in January.

Beyond the Hoops:

in June 2015, Anderson singed a two-year contract with FC Midtjylland, who play their football back in the Danish Superliga.

He also played 11 international UEFA games with the Danish side, amongst which were agaisnt Rubin Kazan, Napoli, Club Brugge and Manchester United!
