East's Story:
A cultured midfielder within the Royals Academy, East has been an integral part of the Under-23s side over the last couple of seasons.

Having scored his first goal for the side against Leicester City in a Premier League 2 clash in October 2016, he was the only ever-present player in the U23s 2017-18 PL2 season as well as the Premier League International Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy.

Nominated for the PL2 Player of the month for September 2018, East has been a mainstay within the U23s and their journey in the PL International Cup. Having topped Group B with wins against Leicester and Feyenoord, a 3-1 victory against Manchester United earned progression to the quarter-finals for the first time in the competition.

Impressive performances for the U23s lead to a first senior call up for East – a trip to the Theatre of Dreams in January 2019 where he took place as an unused substitute in a close-run match against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils in the FA Cup.

Nine days later he scored the winner for the U23s against Wolves to complete the comeback and send Scott Marshall’s side back to the top of the table.

Two months later he made his debut for José Gomes’ Royals when he was called into the starting XI to face table topping Leeds United at Madejski Stadium in March.
