Teddy Howe

Date of birth

Athletic, technically gifted full-back who, alongside Ramarni Medford-Smith, Jordan Holsgrove and Tyler Frost, put pen to paper on his first professional contract at Reading when still only 18 years of age in February 2017.

The pacey right-back made 22 starts in his final year with the Under-18s that season, scoring twice against Fulham and Swansea City.

He also earned early experience of competitive senior team football by representing the Royals in the Checkatrade Trophy against Bristol Rovers, Portsmouth and Yeovil Town.

Teddy stepped up to the Under-23 stage in the same year, playing three times in total. And after completing the second year of his scholarship, Howe made 14 appearances for the U23s in his first full season at that level in 2017-18.

In 2018-19, he had been a regular under Scott Marshall, notably starting in a fine performance that earned our U23s a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford, before impressing against Bayern Munich at Madejski Stadium in the Premier League International Cup Semi-Final later that season.

Howe also demonstrated a penchant for the spectacular, scoring a wonderful equaliser at Maidenhead United to help earn ten-man Reading a place in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup Final.

In 2019-20, he started by earning a place in the starting eleven for fixtures against Plymouth Argyle and Premier League's Wolves in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.
