Liam Kelly is a highly-rated Royals youngster that is very capable of scoring the spectacular, having netted several top class goals during his time in the Academy.
Having been with the club since the age of eight, the pint-sized midfielder is quick, has good vision for a young player and a wide range of passes at his disposal.
He has represented his country Republic of Ireland at youth level and played an integral role within the U18s and U21s format.
During 2015/16, Kelly was loaned out to Bath City in the National League South where he scored several goals to help the Romans avoid the drop and finish in 14th place for the season.
Kelly thrived in preparations for the 2016/17 season and found himself on the scoresheet against Boreham Wood, scoring a well-taken free-kick, part of a 5-0 win for the Royals in the first game of pre-season.
And the creative midfielder made his name as one of the stand out players in the Royals squad with a strong of performances that belied his young age and earned him international recognition with call-ups to the Republic of Ireland's first team squad.
Kelly made 21 league starts under Stam, scoring his first goal to spark an incredible comeback at Ashton Gate at the start of 2017. He had ended 2016 by signing a new contract at the club and, in becoming the latest Academy graduate to make his mark on our first team, Kelly is surely destined for a big future in football.
