Michael Olise

Date of birth

A midfield Maestro playing for both the Under-18s and Under-23s in recent seasons, Olise made his debut for the senior team as a substitute against Leeds at Madejski Stadium in March 2019.

He was first called up to represent the U18s during the 2017-18 season where he totalled five appearances – the first coming away to Swansea City in January.

The following season he began to make strides within the U23s, having scored his first goal for the Academy with the U18s against Arsenal in October.

He notched against Stoke City in Premier League 2 in March, his first for the U23s, as Scott Marshall’s side would progress through the Group stages of the Premier League International Cup – Olise playing in games against Sparta Praha and Feyenoord along the way.

He was named on the bench for the senior team during a home tie against Wigan in March before making his debut as a substitute against Leeds in the Championship three days later.

Four impressive appearances that season against Leeds, Stoke, Middlesbrough and Birmingham on the final day, lead to the adept midfielder picking up the Scholar of the Season Award for 2018-19.

That summer, Olise earned his first call up at international level for Les Bleuets, representing the host nation, France in the prestigious Toulon Tournament in June 2019.
