Breaking through the youth ranks at Colchester, Morgan made his debut for the first team on 4th November 2000 against Northampton Town.

Aged 17, he made four appearances that season and with a more permanent role, 34 in the next.

A first professional goal came during the 2002/03 season, netting in a 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic that kick-started a run of six goals for that campaign.

With the striker showcasing ample talent, the Royals decided to take a chance on him, bringing him to Madejski stadium on a free transfer in November 2003.

He made his bow for the club in our home fixture against Crystal Palace that December and notched his first goal in a Reading shirt as the 90th winner at Cardiff later in March.

15 appearances that season turned into 20 for the next, with Morgan adding another two goals to his tally.

He left for Luton on a free in the summer of 2005, going on to play 63(+38) games for the Hatters and score on 12 occasions, in amidst loan spells to Southend, Crewe, Leyton Orient and Grays Athletic.

In September 2009 the striker joined up with MK Dons, playing 12 times for the League One side before dropping down a tier on loan to Aldershot from April until the end of May.

Morgan was crowned a champion of League Two alongside Chesterfield in 2011/12. Having spent two seasons with the Spireites, he’d notched up 33(+12) appearances and scored seven goals in the process.

From there, he went on to represent Oxford on loan, Wycombe, non-league Woking, and then on loan to Crawley Town from January of the 2014/15 season.

Ending that campaign without a goal for the Red Devils, Morgan’s feat of scoring at every club he’s been to, finally came to an end after team number 14.
