Dominic Samuel, an Academy product at Reading, came to the attention of Royals fans after a spell of scoring 13 times in 14 games for the U18s during the 2011/12 campaign.
Such form earned both an England U19s call up and a professional contract at Madejski Stadium. The youngster impressed for the U21s during the Barclays Premier League season and was rewarded in December 2012, when he was brought on as a substitute in an away game at Sunderland for his first professional appearance.
In between loan spells with Colchester, Samuel was a regular in the Royals U21s side, and in March 2013 he scored a phenomenal solo goal against Manchester City to earn his side a 3-0 win at Madejski Stadium.
A year later and another loan move transpired when he joined League Two’s Dagenham & Redbridge. He made his debut against Fleetwood Town but knee injury forced the deal to be cut short.
Come the end of that month, Coventry City signed our Academy graduate on loan until April. As a Sky Blue he was able to bring together a run of 12(+1) games, of which he scored an exciting six goals.
A loan with Gillingham ended the 2015/16 season with seven goals, then come the new term he found himself making his first appearance at Madejski Stadium which also coincided with his first goal for the club, stabbing home at the far post in a 3-0 win over Burton In November. He also notched away from home at Ewood Park before joining Ipswich Town on loan in the January Transfer Window.
He made a permanent move to Blackburn Rovers at the start of the 2017/18 season.
