The Royals signed vastly experienced midfielder Dave Edwards from Wolves, just before the end of the summer transfer window in 2017.
Now with 500 club appearances to his name, coupled with 43 caps for Wales, Edwards added his guile and experience to Reading's midfield in his first season with the club.
After coming through the ranks at hometown club, Shrewsbury Town, he went on to make more than 100 appearances for the Salopians before a move to Luton Town in the Championship materialised.
He impressed with the Hatters to the extent that Wolves came calling for his services in 2008. In a nine-year spell at Molineux, he established himself as a favourite among supporters and a consistent presence in the middle of the park, scoring 44 times in 307 appearances for the Wanderers.
Edwards was also one of the Wales squad to take part in their famous run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, which he has since written about in his book, Living My Dream.
He scored his first goal at Madejski Stadium in November 2017, glancing a front post header into the net in a well-earned 3-1 win against Barnsley.
