Date of birth
Born in Callao Peru, Hurtado began his career with Alianza Lima. He made his debut for the Peruvian club in 2008 before seeking a loan spell with Juan Aurich. Upon returning to Lima he became an influential player within their starting eleven and progressed to make over 80 league appearances and score 14 goals.
His talent caught the eye of manager of the Portuguese side F.C. Paços de Ferreira who signed him in the summer of 2012.
He soon proved his worth with eight goals in 28 appearances in his debut season, and notched his first competitive goal for his country the following September against Venezuela in a world cup qualifier.
On August 2015, Hurtado signed a three year contract with the Royals, one of eleven new signings manager Steve Clarke made during the summer transfer window.
The Peruvian international made his Madejski Stadium debut against Premier League outfit Everton in the third round of the Capital One Cup. His home league debut came against Brighton in October, replacing Orlando Sa in that 1-1 draw with the league pacesetters.
