Dutch winger Roy Beerens joined the Royals in the summer of 2016, signing from German side Hertha Berlin.

He started his career with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, making his senior debut while still a teenager.

Beerens represented his country in the 2008 Olympics, and has two Netherlands caps to his name to date.

Meanwhile, his club career was going well with strong spells at Heerenveen and AZ Alkmaar, before joining Hertha Berlin in 2014.

Beerens made more than 50 appearances for the Royals in a season-and-a-half at the club, scoring his final goal for Reading at Derby County in November 2017.

He moved back to Holland in January 2018, with Vitesse Arnhem acquiring his services for an undisclosed fee.
