Director of Football
Amsterdam-born Tevreden began a playing career with FC Volendam in 2002 before a move to FC Emmen in the Eerste Divisie two years later.
The defensive midfielder left his native Netherlands to play for Panthrakikos in Greece in 2006 and after a switch to Fostiras he returned to Holland to end his playing days with FC Dordrecht.
A move into coaching came in 2011 when he took up a role at Ajax where he worked within the club’s esteemed Academy system. He arrived in Reading in 2016 when he was appointed as Head of International Football and Development. The departure of Nick Hammond to West Bromwich Albion allowed Tevreden to step into a Technical Director role which soon became the Director of Football position at Madejski Stadium.
Tevreden played a major part in bringing Jaap Stam to the club in the summer of 2016 and, alongside the owners, the Chief Executive, the manager and his coaching team he helped to construct a squad of players capable of challenging for honours at the end of the 2016-17 season – and his achievement was much lauded after the Royals finished third in the division and lost out on a return to the Premier League at the end of a cruel penalty shootout at Wembley.
