Home Tickets FAQ

We will keep this area up to date to ensure that all questions are relevant to what we are currently being asked in the Ticket Office regarding home games.

If you have any other ticketing queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Ticket Office team on 0118 968 1313 or ticketing@readingfc.co.uk

To start with, you need to register an account on our system. The quickest way of doing this is on www.readingfcdirect.co.uk. All of the ticket information and home matches we are on sale for will be listed under ‘Home Tickets’ on our website. If you have any queries though we will be happy to take your call. Our Ticket Office number is 0118 968 1313.

We advise anyone wishing to attend a Reading home match to purchase in advance so any tickets/member cards can be posted to you.

Matchdays at the Madejski Stadium can be extremely busy, so if you need to collect tickets or if you decide to purchase on the day, please arrive at least 1 hour before kick-off.

All home ticket collections are available from the Main Ticket Office (between Gate 5 and the Megastore). For the majority of fixtures, the East Stand Ticket Office (between Gates 7 & 8) will also be open from 90 minutes before kick-off to offer additional sales windows.

We send an allocation of tickets to each visiting club to sell to their supporters. As part of the Ground Regulations we are only able to sell tickets in the home area of the ground to Reading supporters.

If any tickets are remaining on the day of the game in the Visiting Club’s section then we are often able to sell these to visiting supporters only at the South Stand Ticket Office between Gate 9 and 10 or through the Ticket Office on 0118 968 1313.

We advise anyone wishing to attend a Reading home match to become a Member.  There is no expiry date on your Membership and you can begin saving money from your very first home match. The ticket will load on to your Member Card so there is no need to rely on the post or queue on a matchday.

The majority of home fixtures are on general sale so if you decide not to become a Member you can still purchase tickets, however tickets will be up to £5 more expensive and you will not earn any ticketing loyalty points.

When you make a purchase for a home game, one ticket will load on to your Member Card. Please bring your confirmation email with you to the match so you are aware of your seat details. Alternatively, you may check your seat details online at www.readingfcdirect.co.uk by visiting your recent purchases. If you forget your seat number, we have blue-jacketed Customer Support Staff with electronic handheld readers situated around the stadium on matchdays who will be able to help you. To enter the stadium, insert your Member Card into the reader at the turnstile.

You receive 10 points for each home match as a Member. Please note that this is for each Member Card holder’s individual ticket and you will not be credited further points for buying multiple tickets for non-members. For high demand matches, we may choose to sell tickets on a loyalty points basis to give priority to supporters with the most points.

Any paper tickets purchased up to 2 postage days before a match will be posted to you, unless you request the tickets to be held for collection from the Main Ticket Office at Madejski Stadium. Any ticket purchased over 7 days from the fixture will be posted via 2nd class post.

However we advise all supporters to become a Member to save money and to avoid matchday queues.

All overseas purchases will be held for collection from the Main Ticket Office next to Gate 5. Please bring proof of ID and your confirmation email with you. We advise you to arrive at least 1 hour before kick-off to avoid matchday queues.

Please bring proof of ID and your confirmation email with you to the Main Ticket Office, situated between the Megastore and Gate 5. We advise you to arrive at least 1 hour before kick off to avoid matchday queues.

If you do not receive your tickets, please be patient and wait until the day of the match until phoning the Ticket Office on 0118 968 1313. We will arrange for duplicate tickets to be printed and held for your collection.

Regular checks are made of concession ticket usage at the turnstiles. Any supporters purchasing age related concession prices are advised to bring a form of identification with them to the match. Staff may challenge anyone considered not to be a genuine concession and request proof of age.  Anyone found trying to gain entry using a ticket with an incorrect price band will be required to purchase another ticket at full matchday Adult rate.

Any Season Ticket holder or Member Card holder can move their seat for a game by contacting the Ticket Office. This is not available to do online, and we advise supporters to request a seat move in advance of matchday to avoid matchday queues and for a wider selection of available seats. Any Season Ticket holder moving their seat will be issued with a paper ticket for that particular match. Those wishing to move paper tickets must return these to the Ticket Office before this can be processed, either by post with a covering letter or in person.

The majority of fixtures we operate reserved seating and you need to sit in the seat allocated to you.

For some smaller cup games and friendlies we may choose to operate unreserved seating which means you can sit in any seat within the stand/area that you have selected and any seat details on your booking confirmation can be ignored.

We will communicate if a match is unreserved seating in the selling information.

Yes, we allow Season Ticket holders to upgrade their Season Ticket a maximum of 3 times. Evening games are not included in this restriction, so you may upgrade for any evening game. Season Ticket holders can do this by phoning the Ticket Office or visiting in person and paying the appropriate upgrade fee.

Supporters are advised to do this in advance to avoid queues on match days. Spot checks are carried out on a regular basis to ensure that supporters are entering the stadium on the correct age band. Anyone found trying to gain entry using a ticket with an incorrect price band will be required to purchase another ticket at full matchday adult rate.

Please contact the Ticket Office and we will send you a Member Card free of charge to enable you to qualify for member discount for our home league matches. Your old Season Ticket Card is no longer valid.

Please phone the Ticket Office, or visit in person, and we will be able to replace your Season Ticket or Member Card for a £3 administration charge. If you choose not to have your card replaced, you will be charged the non-member rate for a ticket.

The majority of seats in central areas with a side view of the pitch are already sold to Season Ticket holders. We generally have good availability in the corner blocks and in the Eamonn Dolan Stand behind the goal. We advise purchasing in advance of matchday for greater availability. Supporters can check seat availability and the view from each block themselves by logging in to their online account on a laptop or desktop computer at www.readingfcdirect.co.uk. Unfortunately you are unable to pick your seat on a mobile or tablet. Reading Football Club are currently reviewing our Ticketing provider with the aim to have a mobile and tablet responsive website for the start of the 2018-19 season.

Blocks R27-R29 in the South Stand are for visiting supporters and blocks R30-R32 will be made available to home or visiting supporters dependent upon ticket demand.

The East Stand block Y26 is our designated singing section. This section is adjacent to the visiting supporters so the atmosphere can be energetic and partisan.

Reading Football Club has a Family Area to encourage more families and youngsters to experience a matchday at the Madejski Stadium. The Family Match Ticket is only available in B16, B17 & B18 of the Eamonn Dolan Stand, and no adult or concession tickets can be sold in this area unless accompanied by at least one junior. In order to receive the Family Ticket discount, each supporter also needs to be a Member Card Holder. If you choose not to sit in this area, Reading Football Club aims to provide a safe and family-welcoming atmosphere in all areas of the stadium but the rest of the Eamonn Dolan Stand and the West Stand would be the recommended options.

Family Tickets are available up to 3 hours before kick-off and all supporters must be Members to qualify. New Families are advised to phone the Ticket Office to receive free Membership on their purchase of a Family Ticket, along with an offer of a free Family Parking permit (subject to availability) if you have a child attending under the age of 13. When phoning the Ticket Office you will need to provide the name, address, date of birth and contact details for each supporter you are signing up.

Once your family are members you can purchase online and the Family Ticket discount will then be applied once the tickets have been added to your basket and allocated to each Member.

Reading Football Club welcomes supporters with disabilities to Madejski Stadium, and actively seeks to make the visit enjoyable for all. Full information including our Accessibility guide can be found here: www.readingfc.co.uk/fans/disabled-supporters or contact our Disability Liaison Paul Collins on 0118 968 1017 or disability@readingfc.co.uk.

Four match bundles are available to Members and are limited to two bundles per season. As a bundle holder, you will have the flexibility to choose any home league fixture, subject to availability and on sale dates. You can purchase a bundle online or through the Ticket Office. We then advise you to manage your bundle online to choose which games you would like as part of your bundle.  To do this you just need to go into your account and select ‘My Bundles’ from the list on the left hand side of the screen.

We generally aim to have 4 home league matches on sale at any one time. Once one match has been played, we will then look to go on sale with an additional match the following week.

We advise supporters to subscribe to our ECAL service which means that you can get fully synchronised with all of our fixtures, events and ticket on sale dates on your phone, tablet, desktop computer or internet-calendar. To subscribe, just click here: http://ql.e-c.al/sync_reading

Supporters are recommended to login first.

Unfortunately you are unable to pick your seat on a mobile or tablet, so we advise you to use a laptop or desktop computer to get the best experience.

Reading Football Club are currently reviewing our Ticketing provider with the aim to having an improved system in place for the start of the 2018-19 season.
