📺 Cherries visit set for Sky Sports switch

Our home fixture against AFC Bournemouth next month has been on moved to a Friday night live broadcast slot...

16 December 2020

January's TV picks have been made and the Sky Sports cameras will be back at the Madejski at the end of January for the visit of AFC Bournemouth.

Our home match against the Cherries was scheduled for a 3pm kick off on Saturday 30th January, but it has been brought forward to a Friday night slot.

So Reading will now host Jason Tindall's men on Friday 29th January, kick-off 8pm and the clash will be broadcast live by Sky Sports.

The Royals are live on TV tonight as league leaders Norwich City are in RG2 and, when we face Luton Town in the FA Cup, fans will be able to watch us in Third Round action from 12noon on Saturday 9th January via BT Sport Extra 6.

Veljko Paunovic's men will be keen to make amends for relinquishing a two-goal lead over the recently relegated Cherries at the Vitality Stadium earlier this season.

But history tells us it won't be easy. Bournemouth have won on their last two visits to the Madejski - Callum Wilson scoring the only goal in April 2015, while Lewis Grabban and Matt Ritchie found the net the previous season.

In fact, Reading haven't beaten Bournemouth at the Madejski since recording a 2-0 win over the Cherries in March 2000. On that day, Tindall was playing for the south-coasters alongside former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe and current Royals coach John O'Shea! Nicky Forster and Darren Caskey found a way past them though.

Sky Sports-selected fixtures will not be available to watch via iFollow of course, so be sure to make the latest changes in your calendars to give us your valuable support in what will be another difficult but mouth-watering challenge for the Royals.
