📯 Team news: Gibson misses out, Baldock returns

The starting line-up for our first ever fixture at the Brentford Community Stadium...

19 December 2020

Injury has struck the Royals squad again as Veljko Paunovic has to make changes to his squad to allow for the absence of Lewis Gibson this afternoon.

Both Tom Holmes and Tomas Esteves start, with one likely to occupy the left-back role against the Bees.

Sam Baldock, meanwhile, leads the line once more - as he did in our last away game...the win at QPR last weekend. Sone Aluko is named amongst the Royals substitutes.

Jeriel Dorsett comes into the 20-man squad to take a place amongst the possible replacements - the defender made his debut from the bench in our FA Cup win at Blackpool at the start of this year and he will be vying for an opportunity in the league as 2020 nears an end.

Luke Southwood is prefereed to Sam Walker as the stand-by keeper today, meaning we name ten Academy graduates in our 20-man squad.

And there is another in the Bees' starting eleven; Tariqe Fosu starts for the hosts this afternoon.

Brentford:
Raya, Henry, Goode, Canos, Jensen, Dasilva, Toney (c), Mbeumo, Fosu, Sorensen, Janelt.
Subs: Thompson, Daniels, Ghoddos, Emiliano, Forss, Norgaard, Pressley, Stevens, Haygarth.

Reading
: Rafael, Holmes, Esteves, Moore (c), Morrison, Rinomhota, Laurent, Semedo, Olise, Ejaria, Baldock.
Subs: Southwood, McIntyre, Bristow, Dorsett, Watson, East, Onen, Melvin-Lambert, Aluko.
