📱 Royals women take over for Women’s Football Weekend

Social media takeover of men’s first-team accounts

12 November 2020

This weekend, Reading FC Women’s Grace Moloney and Brooke Chaplen will be taking over the social media accounts of the men’s first-team during Women’s Football Weekend.

Women’s Football Weekend 2020 will be the biggest yet as every Women’s Super League game is spaced across the entire weekend, ensuring fans can watch each one, including Reading’s trip to Everton on Saturday at 4.30pm, which will be shown on the BBC Red Button.

Goalkeeper Moloney and striker Chaplen will be taking control of the official Reading Football Club Instagram and Twitter accounts to give a behind-the scenes look as Reading FC Women travel to-and-from Everton for the league clash against the Toffees, from Friday afternoon until Saturday evening.

Last season, Kelly Chambers’ Royals hosted Bristol City at Madejski Stadium for the inaugural Women’s Football Weekend, which falls during the November international break in men’s football, in an initiative from the FA to get more fans watching the women’s game.

Keep an eye on the Reading FC Instagram and Twitter accounts across Friday and Saturday to keep up with Moloney, Chaplen and the rest of the Reading FC Women squad this Women’s Football Weekend.
