Lucas João's 100% record continues. Eight starts for the Royals frontman has resulted in eight goals - the latest coming as our fourth in a fabulous victory over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night...

João was in the thick of the action from start to finish - providing the assist for Yakou Meite's ninth second opener before rounding off the win with a lovely finish for our final goal of the night.

"It’s always good to win away from home," he beamed. "We got the perfect start, the perfect scenario. Luckily the ball came to me and Yakou scored!

"We are all working hard and things are working on the pitch. We are happy to work during the week when we come to the game and things are going so well for us.

"And we have to enjoy these moments. is time to rest. Time to analyse again. And time to look after ourselves, recover well. Because we have another game on Friday. Here we go!"

Reading are now behind only Rovers in the goals scored column in the Championship and with the defence breached twice for the first time last night, we needed to find the back of the net to bag all three points at Ewood Park.

"We have been earning good clean sheets but it wasn’t possible at Blackburn, because we played against a very good opponent. But we got the four goals in the back of the net and got the three points.

"We are enjoying some good patterns in attack and we are solid in defence.

"And last night it was good that different people were on the scoresheet – it means we are all working on the same side and it helps the environment within the team.

"We are all ready to help the team, score the goals and work for the victory.

"And the three points are the most important thing. It was a great team effort and I am very happy I could get a goal and help the team."

Coventry City pose our next threat and every Royals fan will be hoping Lucas can keep his perfect goalscoring record going at St Andrew's on Friday night.

"We will take it game by game. There are no easy games in the Championship and we will treat Friday like any other – an opportunity to go and get three points.

"Last season it was a bit hard for me – I struggled with a few injuries. But now I’m ok," he continued.

"I have the confidence of the manager, the staff and my teammates and things are going well for me and...most importantly...the team."
