For the first time in over a decade, we will not be covering the match action blow-for-blow on social media this weekend when we visit Norwich City.
Ever since we ventured forth into social media over 10 years ago, we have been making efforts to bring our supporters a little closer to the action – a peek behind the scenes and an ever-evolving chance to engage.
This weekend, standing shoulder to shoulder with the rest of English football, we are taking part in a switch-off across our social channels as we look to combat online abuse and raise awareness of how our supporters can help to eliminate unacceptable behaviour.
But we are still going to bring you coverage, as we always do... even though there's a social boycott, we won't leave our fans in the dark. Here are some of the ways that you can keep tabs on the action, as it happens…
Our match will still be available to watch via iFollow – both in the UK and around the world.
A Match Pass is £10 in the UK and Ireland or £7 for overseas supporters, with audio-only options also available.
Like all of our behind-closed-doors matches, there is no need to miss out on the action. iFollow gives you the chance to tune in live and as it happens to follow the team.
Minute-by-minute match blog
From an hour before kick-off, we will be running a live blog via our Match Centre. When the ‘Live’ tab appears, click it to see updates and images from the match as the game goes on.
As always, we will be announcing our starting XI and subs via our website on the dot at 2pm, an hour before the game gets underway.
Report and reaction
We’ll have a match report up on readingfc.co.uk just after the final whistle – and keep your eyes on our website soon after to see an action gallery and interviews with Pauno and a player as they dissect the game. Videos of the interviews will be available to watch via the written articles too.
As always, there will be a short 2-minute highlights package and a 10-minute extended edit available to watch for iFollow subscribers after the game – if you don’t have an account, register for free. As per the EFL broadcast regulations, these will be available to watch on our iFollow platform from 1am on Sunday morning. They will be added onto our YouTube channel after the end of the switch-off.
When our social platforms are up and running again on Tuesday, we’ll bring you an extended feature from some otherwise-unseen areas – an alternative angle of the action from Carrow Road.
