📺 Trip to Preston moved for live TV coverage

Visit to Deepdale pushed back to Sunday following Sky selection

13 January 2021

Our Sky Bet Championship fixture away at Preston North End has been moved to a 12.30pm kick-off on Sunday 24th January, having been selected for live Sky Sports coverage.

The match will take place a day later than originally intended, having previously been scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 23rd January 2021.

John Swift and Lucas Joao were on target when Reading last visited North End at the very end of 2019, the Royals winning 2-0 in December 2019.

But Preston will be no pushovers; Veljko Paunovic's troops were soundly beaten by three second-half goals from Preston when they visited RG2 back in November - Scott Sinclair, Emil Ris Jakobsen and Brad Potts earned all three points for North End when the sides last locked horns.

Both teams bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup in the Third Round, allowing this Championship fixture to go ahead in the penultimate weekend of the month as planned.

And the Royals will be in action in front of the Sky Sports cameras less than a week before that visit to Deepdale and less than a week after returning from Lancashire; our home match against Coventry City is set for co-exclusive broadcast on Sky Arena and iFollow and we then host Bournemouth live on Sky Sports at Madejski Stadium in a Friday night fixture at the end of January.

Of course, this broadcast selection means that our meeting with Alex Neil's men in the North-West will now not be available for supporters to watch via iFollow.

It has also been agreed between the clubs that our home game against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday 2nd March is going to kick off at 7.45pm rather than 8pm. This match will still be part of Sky Sports' red button service during that week.

With this and the rescheduling of the home match against Brentford also taken into account, it could be useful for Royals fans to take a look at our full fixture list, which will be updated shortly and available to view here.
