🤞 "We want to get back-to-back wins, it's really important."

Morrison eager to string a run together, starting with Tuesday evening's Rovers visit

Having netted the winning way goal that saw the Royals end a run of consecutive defeats against Rotherham United, defender Michael Morrison is keen to see his side build on the momentum they took home from South Yorkshire, with Blackburn Rovers the visitors to the Madejski on Tuesday night.

The centre-back, who sealed three points against the Millers on Saturday, knows that now more than ever it's about getting points on the board with 13 games left to play, and he knows that completing the double over a Tony Mowbray side that possesses plenty of quality will be far from easy.
He said: "We want to get back-to-back wins. It’s really important, especially this time of year."

"If we can get a bit of form going into the next few games, that would be brilliant – and it’d bring some momentum to the football club again.

"Everybody is positive; we’re not too far away when it comes to getting a few players back from injury, and hopefully those guys can come in and help the team and we’re in a good position for them to do that.

On the visitors, Morrison added: "Being away from home, they could go a bit more defensive or they could come at us. We’ll have a look over these few days at what they’re doing.

"Quite obviously you can see their threats, and that goes down with the assists and the goals that they’ve scored. So we know they carry a threat. It’s about trying to push them back, use our threats and use the talent we’ve got further up the pitch."

But the focus is very much on us as we embark on another busy month, and Morrison knows that good teams have goals coming in every position, and he grabbed his fourth of the campaign at the weekend.

He concluded: "We have scored a lot of goals this season, and sometimes you can hit a bit of a dry patch. That’s why you can see that set-pieces can be so important, as you saw against Rotherham – other people scoring and not just relying on strikers.

"We’ve got goals from other areas, and we’re still trying to improve that, and to make sure everyone chips in and plays their part."
