It barely seems like yesterday that we were gearing up for the restart… but by 2.30pm on Saturday, we’ll be two-thirds of the way through those final nine.
We’ve had mixed fortunes so far – but a win at The Valley would make it three unbeaten as we look to roll into summer on a positive note.
That will be no mean feat against a Charlton Athletic side which have been capable of beating some of the best so far this season: Brentford, Derby, Forest and Leeds have all fallen to the Addicks so far this term… they also won 2-0 on their trip to Madejski back in August.
Nevertheless, they are part of a close-run race to avoid relegation – hovering two points above the drop-zone.
And while we have little to play for, there’ll be no favours done at the weekend – our pride means we’ll want the three points on offer just as much as ever.
A reminder to all of our supporters that this trip to Charlton on Saturday is available to watch live on iFollow.

Manager Mark Bowen: “We’ve got enough to break them down if we do things right on the day and if our quality is better.
“But they’ll ask questions of us. They went up against Brentford away from home on Tuesday. It’s there to see – what can happen if we take our eye off the ball, treat them lightly. I fully expect a hard and difficult game against Charlton and we have to be fully prepared for that.”
Defender Tom McIntyre: “We want to take momentum into next season as well. We won’t have a long break and it’ll be a quick turnaround. So every team will be targeting a good end to the season, to take it into next season.
“If we can take a bit of confidence into that break that we have, that will stand us in good stead for when next season starts.”
Defender Gabriel Osho: “As a team we’ll be looking at Charlton together… I was on YouTube yesterday, looking at their highlights! They’re a good team – they’ve got a lot to fight for in the last couple of games of the season so it’ll be a good test for us.
“They have a lot of spirit – they’re coming in off the back of a tough defeat to Brentford on Tuesday. They’ll be looking for the three points. But just like they do, we want to get as high up in the table as we can. We have to do all that we can to win the game.”
A polite reminder to all of our supporters that no unauthorised access at all will be permitted to any of our home or away fixtures while games remain behind closed doors, so supporters must not travel to stadia on matchdays. All supporters have the opportunity to watch via iFollow.
We can’t wait to see you all soon – but for now it’s important that when we play, please stay away.
